Once you've been admitted into your program, the steps below will help you get ready for your first day of classes at Madison College. 

Class capacity is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.

  • Activate Student Account

    All program students at Madison College need to have an active student account. If you haven’t already, activate your account for access to:

    • Student email
    • Online myMadisonCollege Student Center
    • Blackboard
  • Apply for Financial Assistance

    Need help paying for college? Different types of financial assistance may be available to those who qualify, such as:

    • Financial aid
    • Scholarships
    • Veterans benefits
  • Prepare for Program Registration

    To Enroll:

    Students who successfully complete all of the below requirements will register for first semester courses to confirm their status as a Medical Laboratory Technician student.

    All students must:

    • Review the Online Workshop in BlackBoard. This includes helpful information about the program and next steps.
    • Meet the registration requirements below to register for Medical Lab Tech program classes. 
    • After all registration requirements are complete, review the Online Orientation in Blackboard which also includes information about a mandatory orientation session prior to starting program classes.

    Algebra

    Students must demonstrate Algebra competency in one of the following ways:

    1. Test Scores: Minimum test score within the last four years at time of registration

    • ACT Math 20+
    • ACCUPLACER NextGen Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics 237+
    • ATI-TEAS (formerly TEAS-V) Math 63.3%+

    2. Courses: Madison College courses that satisfy this requirement are:

    • Elementary Algebra with Apps (10834110)
    • College Math (10804107)
    • Mathematical Reasoning (10804134)
    • Applied Math for Chemistry (77854756)

    3. Educational Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher

    English and Reading

    Students must demonstrate English and Reading competency in one of the following ways:

    English competency – Students may demonstrate English competency in one of the following ways:

    1. Test Scores: Minimum test score within the last four years at time of registration

    • ACT English 17+
    • ACCUPLACER NextGen Writing 260+
    • ATI-TEAS (formerly TEAS-V) English/Language Usage 60%+

    2. Courses: Madison College courses that satisfy this requirement are:

    • Written Communication (10801195) or higher
    • English 1 (20801201) or higher
    • Intro to College Writing (10831103)

    3. Educational Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher

    Reading competency - Students may demonstrate Reading competency in one of the following ways:

    1. Test Scores: Minimum test score within the last four years at time of registration

    • ACT Reading 19+
    • ACCUPLACER NextGen Reading 261+
    • ATI-TEAS (formerly TEAS-V) Reading 69%+

    2. Courses: Madison College courses that satisfy this requirement are:

    • Written Communication (10801195) or higher
    • English 1 (20801201) or higher
    • Intro Reading & Study Skills (10838105)

    3. Educational Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher

    Chemistry:

    Students must demonstrate chemistry competency in one of the following ways:

    1. One year of high school chemistry with lab components; high school chemistry classes must be college-preparatory

    2. One semester of college-level chemistry with lab components. Madison College courses that satisfy this requirement are:

    • General Chemistry (10806134) or higher
  • Pay for Classes

    Tuition is due each semester by the tuition due date. You may also find it helpful to start familiarizing yourself with the college's refund policy and available payment options.

    Credit classes are billed electronically through your Student Center. Paper bills are not mailed.
