Please review these important to-dos and policies for taking professional and continuing education courses at Madison College.

Your Student Account

Your student account is the key you need to access class registration and your student portal (myMadisonCollege) where you’ll find critical information. Make sure you secure your login credentials prior to your first class if:

  • Your class takes place in a Madison College computer lab
  • You need to connect to the Madison College internet on campus with a personal laptop or mobile device
  • You have an online class that uses Blackboard and/or uses course specific software

Create or Activate Your Student Account

Once you finish the account creation process, you have the following credentials:

  • Student ID Number: A seven-digit number that identifies you in our database
  • Username: Based on your name, you need this to access college systems and resources
  • Password: Also required to log into college systems and resources (easy to change at any point)
  • Challenge Question: A safeguard in case you forget your username or password

Policies That Affect You

Cancellation Policy

Minimal enrollment requirements must be met to run a class. If a class doesn’t have enough students enrolled, it will be canceled 5 to 7 days prior to the start date. In the event of a class cancellation, we’ll try to reach students using the contact information we have on file.

Refund Policy

You are responsible for all tuition and fees unless you drop your class 24 hours prior to the class start date. Refunds will be issued in accordance with the WTCS Refund Policy. If you do not officially drop a class, you’ll be billed for it even if you do not attend.

EEO Statement

Madison Area Technical College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age in employment, admissions or its programs or activities

Photo Release

Madison College reserves the right to use images (photographic and video) of students for publicity purposes. Students not wanting their images used must notify the Madison College School of Professional and Continuing Education staff in writing.

Software Access

Login Required

Courses that use specific computer applications — like Adobe, QuickBooks or AutoCAD — don’t require a separate software purchase. Unless otherwise noted, you’ll be provided access to these application via your virtual desktop.

For help connecting to your virtual desktop, email, chat or call the library at 608.246.6640.

Virtual Desktop

A Virtual Desktop is a computer that exists in the cloud, which you access remotely. It works like a desktop or laptop com- puter except there is no physical hardware. Instead, the virtual desktop is made available “virtually” in Madison College’s data center, which you can access anytime, anywhere, from almost any device.

Madison College allows students to access and use virtual desktops from personally owned computers and some mobile devices. Using your personal equipment, you can install the free application, VMWare View Client, or use VMware Horizon HTML access.
